RIVERSIDE — There was no question as to where the ball was heading when Arlington opted to attempt the two-point conversion while trailing by a point in overtime on Friday night.

With his fifth straight carry of the extra period, Jamon McGlory blasted through the middle of the field to give Arlington a 32-31 overtime victory over North.

“There was no doubt in mind we were going to go for the win,” Arlington head coach Rich Lunsford said, “I trust every single one of these guys.”

McGlory, who scored the touchdown to set up the two-point conversion, rushed 31 times for 134 yard in the contest scoring three touchdowns in process.

“When you have an opportunity like that, you have to make the best of it,” McGlory said. “Nothing was given to us tonight, we had to earn it.”

Arlington took the first lead of the game midway through the second quarter when McGlory found the end zone from four yards out, but North was able to equalize four minutes later when Jalen Hawkins caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Nick Satcher.

The Huskies looked to take a three point lead into the half when Diego Giron nailed a 30 yard field goal with 20 seconds left, but the Lions capitalized on several penalties with the time remained and managed to once again level the game with a 35 yard field goal from Jihad Abuhijleh as time expired.

North regained the lead with a little over two minutes to play in the third quarter on an Arlington snap miscue that allowed Michael Hollis to pick up the fumble and run 80 yards untouched for the score.

Once again Arlington wasted no time answering back, scoring on the following possession with a keeper from Cameron Abts. The contest was forced to overtime with a wild final three minutes of regulation which saw both teams trade scores.

Abts finished his night 4 of 8 in the air for 152 yards while his counterpart Satcher completed 15 of 19 passes for 162 yards. Hawkins led the Huskies with three receptions for 61 yards, while the Lions receiving tandem of Jonathan Ramirez and Hollis both made one catch for 51 and 50 yards respectively.
